Okay, so this is just Pokemon Emerald, with one major change. You can now catch EVERY pokemon in just one game. Yup. That's right. All 386 'mon in a game. It includes everything the original Emerald version did, with extra pokemon. And I also believe the difficulty was bumped up a bit. The placements of the pokemon are fairly good. You can find all 3 gens of starters in one place, the Altering Cave, a cave on the root to Mauville. The other 377 'mon are also around the rest of the Hoenn region, enabling for easy catching, although you still have to battle them first. A good thing about this is that you can finally make your dream team of powered up 'mon. And what better way for testing them out than the fully functional multiplayer? Allowing you to link up with someone else with the 386 ROM hack. You can also trade with them too.
All in all, it's a brilliant ROM hack that I'd recommend people to pick up if they wish to play online with their friends. Also, buy the original game to see the difference X3
